RAKU AND CERAMICS –course 3.-16.7.2017

RAKUFESTIVAL 14.-16.7.2017

Raku and Ceramics –course 3.-16.7. is experimenting by different raku burning technics for two weeks. Somero Stonedairy has the kilns, smoke materials and working tools; you pay for the used clay, glaze and kiln fuel the normal store prize.

We have developed our processes so that we have reached rich results also by more rare methods as naked raku-, crocodile skin- and obvara -technics. Raku gets results by cracking, metallic coating glazes and smoke.

The course ends to the Rakufestival, which is included to the fee of 290 euro.

Rakufestival 14.-16.7. is meant for everyone interested in ceramics. The festival is burning raku for three days. Stonedairy provides the kilns and smoke materials; clay, glaze and kiln time you pay by store prize. You are also invited to bring your own tools, methods and materials.

The clay in the pieces should be dry, so you have three options: 1. You bring totally dry pieces, 2. You bring pre-burnt pieces, 3. You may work with clay at the Stonedairy 3.-9.7. by 30 euro/day.

The special programs during the festival introduce different kilns, technics as crocodile skin and naked raku. Fee for the festival is 110 euro.
